O’Brien
Cy Isadore Ward
PERSONALITY Calm and collected are good words to use for Cy. He’s not one to rush into any situation without thinking it through beforehand, and thoroughly. His reliable nature is what allowed him to gain such an important position in the O’Brien family… business, along with references from a number of well-known underground organisations. He tends to use anger as a tool, only letting his emotions run freely when it would serve to better do his work. His main flaw as an employee is his pride, he is wont to defy members of the family if he sees a flaw in their logic, or their plan, and most of the time he turns out to be right to do so. Even if that has led to him being regretfully… let go, by some of his previous employees. On call in case they need someone of his skill and connections, of course. Cy is, for a mobster, quite well educated, resulting in a sometimes strange mixture between a tough brute and quite knowledgeable man. He drinks irregularly, but has a weakness for marijuana. He is not someone to cross, given that by using his connections he could easily set back the O’Briens decades by calling in some of his corrupt contacts. HISTORY Cy made his money and honed his skills by working as an associate for a number of different criminal organisations across the globe, finding work wherever the criminal elements of society were to be found. His often soft-spoken voice, when combined with the icy-cold manner that he adopts to deal with people allows him to intimidate, extort and bribe as he pleases, with infrequent resistance. As a child, he attended the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, and was sorted into Hufflepuff house, something that his parents considered a grave insult, and practically disowned him for. However, he turned out to have plenty of the houses signature ‘finding’ ability, albeit not in the way that most of his fellows did. He appeared in the United States as soon as Prohibition was enacted, eager to take advantage of the crime sprees he predicted would follow it, and joined the O’Brien business in the last six months.
